This feature will become available for those to drive for pleasure, to and from work, and to transit stations. This is not available for delivery use or other work-based uses.

Some features will need to be discussed in person, by phone or by email. These include:

On March 17, ICBC is launching an Online Renewal System – a virtual portal through which customers can renew online. It can be accessed on the ICBC website.

To ensure your identity is true, you will need to use the BC Services Card App. It will scan your identification documents to verify who you are.

You can renew your policy 45 days in advance. 

If you choose to renew with your existing brokerage or select a new one, you will have the option of changing this. A map will be available for customers to search for a new broker office to renew with online. 

Policy renewals will be reviewed by brokers within two business days. Clients will receive a comparison of the previous policy along with the new one. 

To renew online, customers must consent to allowing a broker to review their policy changes.

If you’re interested in selecting or switching to us as your broker, firstly – thank you! To do this, log onto the ICBC Online System (not yet available). It will prompt you to choose your “Broker of Choice”. The last three locations you worked with will appear. You may either select from this list or look up AP Insurance. Two days afterwards, an advisor will get in touch with you about the change.  

If you prefer, you can still speak to us in person by phone, e-mail, or submit a quote request online. 

Payment for insurance is accepted via all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX), or by monthly payments through your bank account.

Once you complete the renewal, your documents will be mailed to you, to be printed at home. Alternately, you can come into AP Insurance and we’d be happy to print them for you.

Customers are now responsible for keying their own odometer. You will receive instructions on retaining proof of the odometer in case a review or confirmation is needed. The Low Kilometer Discount remains available as an in-person service only.

Vehicles will no longer need to display proof of insurance on their licence plates. After May 1, you may leave the decal on your licence plate or remove it. Blank stickers will not be provided, and make sure to keep insurance documents in your vehicle at all times.

While telephone and email renewals will continue, they are being phased out over the next few months. This will allow clients the option to renew their insurance in a broker’s office or online only.
